Calculator inputs

The income, wealth, quiz and budget calculations run in your browser. The site’s calculation code does not send the amounts to an analytics service or save them in a database. It does not write your financial inputs into a URL or browser storage.

Your browser may restore form state when you return to a page. Close the tab or clear the fields on a shared device. Downloaded result images and copied text are under your control.

Sharing

Sharing is initiated by you. By default, copied results and result images contain the comparison and source period, without your amount. Selecting “Include my amount when sharing” adds it. The Copy button uses your browser’s clipboard permission; the image button creates a file in the browser.

Optional usage counts

Usage measurement is off until you allow it in the site’s measurement settings. When enabled, the site sends only an allowlisted page key and event name to its own counting endpoint. Examples are viewing a page, generating a result, using the optional guess feature, opening a score challenge or copying a public comparison.

The endpoint stores daily aggregate counts for up to 400 days. The private dashboard shows totals by page and event for selected date ranges. No individual visitor conversion rate can be calculated from these counts. Its saved records contain no salary, wealth, age, region choice, names, user IDs or individual event histories. These counts cover participating browsers only; they are not a count of all visitors.

Your yes/no preference is stored locally in this browser. Change it at any time using “Usage measurement settings” in the footer. Declining or withdrawing prevents subsequent measurement requests. Earlier aggregate counts cannot be separated back out by visitor.

The site also respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals by suppressing optional measurement.

Challenge links can contain a quiz score from zero to five. This is a public challenge target, not a financial input or visitor identifier. Your optional percentile guess stays in the page and is not sent to measurement. No private financial input is added to a URL.

Hosting logs

Loading a website exposes information such as your IP address, requested page and browser information to the hosting infrastructure. Hosting access and security logs may retain those details. Their logging and retention are controlled by the hosting provider.

Requests to the optional counting endpoint also pass through that infrastructure. The endpoint itself saves only the aggregate fields described above. There is no claim of complete anonymity across the hosting system.

External services

The public site does not load advertising scripts, third-party analytics, remote fonts or social widgets. Links to official sources take you to those organisations’ sites, whose own privacy arrangements apply.

Administration

The owner’s protected statistics area uses a session cookie for login. Public calculators do not require that cookie or an account.
